1)Eat 5 times a day. Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner.
2)Do not over eat! It will only make your stomach work harder than normal, leading to your stomach creating more stomach acid than normal, thus making you hungry like a person that starved for a year, thus leading to over eating, thus restarting the cycle of over eating.
3)Drink water before your meal and 30min after your meal. Not while you have your meal. While it is true that drinking water between bites will help you from over eating, it will also slow down your digestion process.
4)Drink 8 glasses of water a day. Seriously, it's cliche, but it helps burn those fat.
5)Give yourself 3 hrs in between when you eat and before you go to bed.
So, you're wondering: why the hell do I eat 5 times a day? To keep your metabolism working nonstop. And the snacks help you from getting really hungry until the next meal, where you over eat.
If you haven't read "Fats, carbs, protein wtf?" topic thing, read it. It gives you a long list of "good" foods. From there, pick out light snack foods like fruits, veggies, nuts, etc. Eat light ones! Snacks does NOT in any way, shape, or form mean cookies, cakes, etc, etc.
Some snack ideas are:
A variety of fruits
A variety of veggies [raw! Dressing: Low fat ranch or something healthy like that]
Yogurt
Dried fruits
Nuts
Small side salad type thing
Larabars [So freaking good =D]
Health bar type things
Now, let's head for the drinks...
Milk
Why, yes. They are good for you, but recent science research have proven it otherwise. Try to stay with low fat, fat free, skim, or soy milk. Keep it to 8oz [1 cup] a day and no more.
Water
Drink lots of it =)
Sodas
Diet or regular, stay away. They are bad for you.
Juices, sports drinks, etc.
Try and stay away fom them. High in sugar content =X
Tea
Good. Good. Good. Good. Did I mention good?
Coffee
While it is an excellent way to give you a jump start with caffeine in the morning, it's not that good for you if you load it with sugar and cream.

Tips for staying away from junk food
1. Have your parents buy individually wrapped chip bags, chocolate, and what not if you MUST have those unhealthy, fattening foods. It will be better than sitting on the couch with one of those oversized "family" sized bags in your lap and after an hour, realized you ate the whole thing by yourself.
2. Buy no junk food! Ha. That's easy.
3. Store junk food in those hard to get places. You would not likely go for them if they're hard to get. [aka highest shelf in a cabinet, back of the pantry, down on the ground behind bags of onions.]
4. Buy fresh fruits and veggies, wash them [who wants to eat pesticides???], cut them up into bite size pieces, and store 1 serving in plastic baggies or small containers. Then put them in the fridge [the duh part] but don't put them in drawers. Put them right on the shelf you're eye level with or somewher it's easy to reach [You didn't think of that, did you??] Thus, you're more likely to grab that then fish a bag of chips out from behind rows of pasta sauce..
Hmm, I know I'm forgetting something here.
Ahhh, yes. Over eating during meals.
Tips for over eating during meals
1. Have your parents prepare meals in a NON buffet style. As in have all your food on one plate per person. No lining upp of dishes in front of you where you tend to grab more and more.
2. Use a salad or a smaller plate than your large dinner plates. Smaller portions will fill up the plate, thus giving you an image that it's a lot of food.
3. Chew slowly and eat slowly. It takes your brain 20min to realize you're full.
4. Don't eat in front of the TV. It'll make you eat more. I don't know why. It just does.
5. Starting meals off with a broth based soup fills you up. Thus helps with you over eating.
6. Do not eat empty calorie foods [aka junk foods]. You know why.
7. Clean everything up in the kitchen and turn off the lights after 8PM. You'll less likely be tempted to go get something.
8. Create a day "menu" the night ahead. Plan your meals and snacks the night ahead. It will make it much easier to keep track of the calories and help you get on with life faster.
Hmm, I'm probably forgetting something. Oh well. If you have any more questions, feel free to add =)
