Is it true it is a good idea to let a 15 year old visit her mom who will be in prison for six months?

It is a check fraud sentence and a six month sentence. Daughter is fine with visiting and is even enthusiastic and curious, her mom says bring her if she wants,. I don’t have a problem with her seeing mom, it is solely the environment and seeing guards and other inmates. A 15 year old that only just started high school is probably not old and mature enough to visit jail..
