iPad Mini push notifications not showing?

Question Posted Saturday September 6 2014, 9:44 pm

I recently upgraded from an iPad 1 to an iPad Mini and I'm not quite sure how to get the push notifications working. I used Kik daily and when I was out of the app on another app or on safari, any messages I got beeped and a banner on the top of my screen showed with a little preview of the message for a few seconds. I cannot get this to happen on the iPad Mini. No banner, no beep. And I have kik enabled for push notifications and I have banner notifications set up in my iPad Mini settings. Is there something I'm missing? Or maybe they just don't work like that on the Mini for some asinine reason?

Update: I'm no longer having this issue. I downloaded my backup data from my iCloud to the new iPad and the notifications worked properly after that. Not sure how or why..
