Missing a day or even taking it at a different time is enough to disrupt it's ability to keep you safe from getting pregnant.
To remember to take it on time, set the timer on your cell phone or whatever device you use, to remind you daily to take it the exact same time. Pick a time of day you're likely to be home to take it, otherwise, if you're not guaranteed to be in the same place from one day to the other, carry your pills with you in your purse
Now the second question, can you get fat taking the pill. The pill has a variety of side effects that many women who take it do experience and weight gain is one of them.
Gaining more weight that what is your normal weight with the pill is one thing, becoming very overweight is another and means that there could be another yet undiagnosed medical condition contributing to it.
All medications can have side effects that effect some of the people using them. The type of side effects may vary depending on the type of pill you are taking so if you are concerned, look up the name of your pill online and side effects associated with it. It is good to know what type of side effects are associated with the pill because you may be experiencing another one and not realize its because of the pill such as being irritable all the time, migraines, headaches, loss of libido, tenderness in breast and more. There are a few serious side effects as well that occur in very few people but its good to know what those are.
If you can't find it on line, then ask your doctors office who prescribed the pill for what side effects and if you should be seen again because of the weight gain issue. [ Dragonflymagic's advice column | Ask Dragonflymagic A Question ]
