I've recently started to go jogging. I don't push myself too hard, and I'm using the C25K app to get into it.
Prior to this, I've been working out for about 2-3 months regularly at the gym.
The first two times were fine, no aches or pains. After the third time, I developed an ache in my calves, more dominantly the right leg.
The same thing happened today, but already after I had run for maybe 5 minutes at an easy pace.
I've established that the pain/ache is somewhere around the gastrocnemius and soleus region. During the run the pain is more concentrated but once I got home, it really feels like the inner parts of my calves are downright aching to the bone.
Since I'm new to running, I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas or experiences with this sort of thing. I wear proper running shoes and I run on pretty even ground.
Of course if this appears to be a more serious issue, I will go to my GP (does a GP even deal with this sort of thing?!)
Overall I'd like some pointers from runners/athletes that have experienced something similar or know what might be wrong. Thanks in advance!
