angular cheilitis

Question Posted Saturday November 10 2012, 8:05 pm

17/m

I have had angular cheilitis for the last couple of years. Especially since I have had braces. I got my braces a year and a half ago. They put them on and ever since i have had problems with them and my mouth. I have angular cheilitis right now and it is very bother some. I have gone to the doctor for it, they gave me some ointment that didn't work. They gave me a pill that worked... but it didn't cure it. It came back a month later.

They said I was tested positive for yeast. Sometimes I can get it where the cut is gone on my mouth but the area still feels dry. No matter what it feels dry and I need chapstick or something. I have also tried chapstick, carmex, blistex and vasaline and nothing works. It still feels dry. Usually I will need to it on once an hour or so... but when it starts to get worse i have to put it on almost every 5 minutes cause it just feels dry.

What do i do? I finally got the doctor to give me the pills again just to get it to go away cause it is starting to get worse again and I hate it. I have tried some home remedies that were no success... I tried some vinegar and stuff. I just switched toothpastes.

Any help is appreciated. I just want the dry feeling to go away and to be healed. I am tired of the pain and the dry feeling and the embarrassment.
