Her hair might be like that naturally. But if not, scrunching mousse always worked for me. After you're done showering (or if you hair is just clean and dry) take the mousse and put it in your hair and then scrunch your hair in your hands. It would be easier to tell you what to do if I knew what your hair was like. Another thing you can do is sleep with a VERY LOOSE single braid that is at the back of your head. Make sure it is loose because if not, then your hair will come out looking like you got a perm. And those aren't very attractive, especially when it wasn't intended.
