Not going to work due to coldsore/lipinfection. Basically, I have severe cold sores that break out into lip infections that I am experiencing right now.
I can barely move my lips and speak because it is too painful, and I have dots that are growing on my lips while my lips are getting inflammated.
It's hard for me to eat, or even drink without having drool and spit running down as I don't have proper control of my lips right now, as they also twitch uncontrollably. Anyways, I work a part-time job as a student and I work today and tomorrow.
I called in yesterday and told them I don't think I can come to work today and I told them the reason why (albeit I could barely speak, and they could barely make out what I was saying). I made the effort to call others that were not scheduled to take my shift but no one wanted to. I called in today and told my boss and she started getting upset, and saying ALL I have is a cold-sore and that it's no excuse. I kept trying to telling her it's infected by entire lip.

What I believe really doen't matter, it is what your employer believes that matters.
In your favor is the fact you have a doctors note. Also Herpes, even if it is just the type that causes cold sores, is extremely contagious. If you touch your lips then touch a counter or something else where others could come in contact with that surface you can spread the disease. By doing so you could infect others including customers. This would not be good for her business.
I think you did the right thing by staying home. Your boss, if she is of your parents or grandparents generation, may not be aware of just what cold sores are and how an outbreak like yours can be a danger to others.
If I were you while you are home you can search the web for information to educate her to just how dangerous this outbreak is and how easily it can be spread. Maybe once she understands she will be more reasonable and understand that by staying home you were not only looking out for yourself but her business als well. ]
