Whether you're a virgin or not, you're not supposed to even feel it in there. Try this: Sit on the toilet with your legs spread. Take a deep breath and RELAX YOUR MUSCLES. Pretend you're trying to go to sleep, if you feel any of your leg or stomach muscles tightening, release them. Let the breath out really slow while inserting the tampon. Depending on the applicator of the tampon, insert it so that the part that holds the tampon is completely inside you. Make sure its at an angle, as well. (For instance, if you're sitting and relaxed, then your vaginal opening should be facing outward, but about 45 degrees downward. Make sure the tampon matches this angle so it doesn't hurt the walls of your vagina.) Keeping a slight grip on the edge of the part of the applicator that is inside you, (With your middle finger and thumb) push on the other end of the applicator with your index finger. While pushing in the tampon, the first half of the applicator will try to escape your opening. Hold in into place until you feel the entire tampon inside you. Then just remove and throw away the applicator. Its going to take a little bit of practice, but soon, you'll wonder why it was so hard for you.
