No period whilst on placebo pills.

Question Posted Sunday October 2 2011, 9:47 am

I took my last birth control pill on Thursday morning, and then today is the third morning I took a placebo pill.
I have yet to get my period, which is strange, because I usually begin to spot already at the end of the first placebo pill day.

My boyfriend and I are sexually active, we only use the pill- we've both been tested and have been together for two years already, and sexually active for about a year and a half.

I have forgotten maybe to take 3 pills over the past year and a half- I always remember, so it's not like I'm missing them.

We had sex yesterday morning, my second day of placebo pills.
Just to make sure- I should still be protected by the pill, even if on the placebo pill week, as far as I have understood. Correct me if I am wrong.

But today I'm beginning to get worried as to why I have yet to get my period. Are there any other reasons why I am not having my period besides pregnancy? Has this happened to any of you before?

Thank you in advance!

Well, I was never all that regular even when I was on the the pill. this happened to me a few times. There can be other reasons it's late. Especially stress. Try to relax. Especially if there is anything else that has changed or is stressful in your life. Or if you lost a lot of weight recently, or even a little, but were already underweight.

If the pills are working properly, you are still protected while on the placebo. If you're really worried, take a home pregnancy test. I know it's scary, but try not to stress too much.
