What do I do about my idea for an invention? Hello. I am Male/16. I have an idea for a project. Its basically a new car. Its actually very simple without the "technical" details. I am almost sure that it can work. The only problem is that I don't know where to start. It would be great just to do minor experiments. I have searched the internet and found nothing similar. But I am still worried that someone else might break out with a similar idea. Are there any places that I can contact? Any? That can help? Funds are not available at all. If I do not find a way anytime soon, I may have to wait a long time and experiment in a garage or something 10 years from now.

First of all you didn't mention how well you know the mechanics of a car, if you don't know what your doing building a car and getting it to run can be very dangerous. Do you have any mechanical training, does your father have any mechanical training, an older cousin, an older brother, maybe?
Also before you invent anything, trying to patent that invention is a good idea. In fact you should try to patent this idea before posting it on the web. I know of a toy inventor on youtube whose currently in the process of building a really cool robot, people have stolen his idea. Patents are expensive but try to get an after school job if you don't have one, also setting up a website to get donations can be a good idea too, go to the bank with one of your parents and set up your own savings account to prevent you from spending the money that you're saving up.
Remember that not all inventions get as popular as the original creator originally thought that they would be. Good luck!
