horrible back and leg pains after work

Question Posted Monday August 29 2011, 4:13 pm

i work at a fast food resturaunt, therefore, i never get to sit. i'm very skinny but i'm so out of shape. when i get home, my legs are killing me and my abdomen and back are aching like hell. this happens after EVERY SINGLE SHIFT AT WORK. and now, they are short staffed so my hours are going up and i know i can't do it. this is giving me extreme anxiety and depression and i don't know how to fix it, besides looking for another job (which i am). i have two 9 hour shifts coming up and i don't want to have to leave early if they need me but i don't want to get sick at work and end up being a drag instead of a help. furthermore, i just don't want to go to work. i hate being in pain and i hate being sick and every time i come home, i'm sick and in severe pain. what do i do?

I had the same problem as you are, and it seemed like sitting to pee was the only sitting i got during 8+ hours... (well I quit my job eventually)
Here is my advice:
1) I dont know if you had cramps every night during sleep cause i had those too, and I took Crampeze its just extra vitamin B to help the nervhes... so take Vitamin B.
2) I hope youre using really good work shoes or rubber shoes (trainers) because it provides much needed support for the ankles, the padding for the ball of the foot, and the protection against slipping on oily or wet work floors. Use thick socks too.
3) You do need to exercise- i cycled to and from work and it gave e the extra mboost of energy- I didnt feel as sluggish as when i took the bus..Think of it as a warm up and cool down from work..
4) try to wear a back support bra or undergarment?
and avoid heavy lifting SERIOUSLY! dont take the heavy jobs- the boys can do those- it will damage you FOREVER! you need your back!

So, try to think of something else to do- in the long run it wont do you any good. Health IS INDEED Wealth what good are you if youre in a hospital bed?the above pointers are just remedies, but not for the long term. I have a very small frame too and there are other jobs for our body type- I had to realize that the hard way- you can check out other jobs..
good luck!
Only resign when you already have a new job! ;)
