your miniature pinscer is a dog. dogs are not like cats. dogs, when given the opportunity, will gorge themselves on any available food because they do not have foresight(they do not know the food will still be there for consumption later). try this experiment some time- take a dog and a cat, give them three days supply of food and water, then leave them alone for the weekend. a cat will eat until it is full, then leave the rest for a later time. the dog will eat until all of the food is gone and starve the rest of the weekend. this does not mean that a dog is stupid, its just geared differently.
