Eyes: Glaucoma at age 19 :( Anything I can do about this?

Question Posted Saturday March 12 2011, 6:36 pm

I am 19 years old and have been diagnosed with Glaucoma. Is there any way that glasses or something might help with it? My doctor right now just has me coming back every 6 months for tests to make sure its not getting any worse.. Being only 19 I am pretty scared about the situation..

You should speak to your doctor before seeking advice on the internet. Regardless of who the people are, your doctor knows your condition the best. If you don't feel confident in your doctor, get a new one. Nothing wrong with that as long as your insurance covers it or you can pay for it.

There are a few options. You can either take medication, get surgery such as laser surgery but there are other kinds, get an implant, or have it drained. Every case is different though so you need to speak with a doctor. It is treatable and there are options.
