Is www.bidhere.com a Scam?

Question Posted Friday February 25 2011, 11:23 pm

Hi!

This sounds too good to be true www.bidhere.com but they have news reports and stuff and a bunch of testamonials and reviews!

Is www.bidhere.com a rip-off or not?

Thank you!

I don't have personal experience with the site, but there are a couple things to mention. In a nutshell: “If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.”

- Apparently, you can walk away with an exceptional deal... or not. Please take a look at some of the comments in this thread and this article:

- Anybody can write up testimonials and post them on a website to "prove" how great the site is. That may or may not be the case here, but I did some very informal checking.

For laughs, I scrolled through the reviews and chose a couple, which led to a few more to try and figure out what was going on. Now, right up front, I’m not an “online detective” or anything like that. I just used Google and kept some notes.

: I searched on some of the more unusual user names in those reviews, like “xrachellrayyx”. After spending some time at this, I began to get an “uneasy” feeling. Many, like xrachel, seem to have no online presence except in these reviews.

: Also, many of the user names were ‘out there’ but have not been active for YEARS. Once again you have to question the legitimacy of these reviews.

: In checking some names, I came across “bidmalaysia.com” which has a different feel, but the same reviews. Again, please review the links that I posted in the beginning. The comments there would be more than enough to make me steer clear.

“…OCAU have cancelled their sponsorship after it became apparent that the majority of members viewed this website as gambling without any regulatory oversight to guarantee fairness.”

Note: OCAU is Overclockers Australia, a major Australian PC hardware site.

I hope that helps in some way!
