Getting in the zone for a game

Question Posted Sunday February 6 2011, 3:37 pm

Before soccer games, I get super super nervous. I can't help it. But, once I start playing, almost always the nerves go away. I love playing soccer in general, but when it comes time for an actual game I sometimes don't have that much fun, because I want to play my best and I worry that I won't play my best. And whenever I worry, the fun gets sucked out of the game. How can I get in the right state of mind, to just have fun and try my hardest, without ruining it for myself?

i play rugby, and that's a nerve racking sport. but before a game, i think to myself, of what i want to achieve in this match and focus on my job. once you get into the swing of it, the fun picks up. after all, its not war, its soccer, have fun!
