Where is the freshness date on Whoppers chocolate candies?

Question Posted Friday September 10 2010, 8:44 pm

I bought a thing of Whoppers the other day because I haven't had them in a long time. I was looking on the package to see when they expire but I can't find it. Does anybody know when Whoppers expire? Or are they something that is good for a really long time? They're just chocolate coated malted milk balls so I'd think they might last awhile? Not sure. Ideas? Maybe I should just return this candy package and get one with a date code on it?

The date should be located at the top of the box on the white tab part that you peel back (like opening a milk carton). It should be stamped with black ink and pressed into the carton packaging so that it's visible. If, for some reason, this has changed it may be marked on the very bottom of the container in the same manner.

If there is not a date I wouldn't worry too much. If you'd prefer you can go back to the store and check out the other packages for a date first. If none of them have a date then I definitely wouldn't worry too much. If the rest (or most) of them do then you can bring you unopened box back and exchange it for a marked candy box.

These sorts of things don't go bad too quickly so assume they will keep for about 2 months. If you don't consume the candies within that time period then throw the excess away and pick up a fresh box. They probably will keep longer than 2 months but it's always best to be extra safe than extra sorry ;)

If, for some reason, you'd like more answers then feel free to call up Hersey's and speak with a customer service associate at (800) 468-1714. There you can file complaints, get a refund or free coupons, make suggestions, or just inquire more about the product and packaging.
