My sister went to the doctor and they are removing her Gall Bladder today because it isn't doing what it's suppose to do or something. I am just wondering what the gall blader does then. I haven't really heard a lot about gallbladder so I guess you don't need it or something since they can remove it and not have to get like a donor organ. What does the gallbladder purpose then? if we don't need it there then why do we have it anyways? I am confused
The gallbladder is a storage room letting the bile concentrate and a delivery system to release it. So digestion of fats is more effective. When the gallbladder is removed the liver still produces bile and it goes directly to the intestines. It's less efficient because the bile is not concentrated.
