i am sure you may have heard this before, but why keep questions six months or older on here? it should be 30 days max...

Maybe give some free advice about: Etiquette?
Simple: There are questions on here that are 6 years old and several HUNDRED people get help each day by finding one of them in Google.
Some questions have over half a million people that have come from Google and found help through them.
30 days wouldn't even be enough for the question to be indexed in all the major search engines let alone do any good for anyone beside the asker.
It is important to remember when you answer a question here that you may be answering it for thousands of people with a similar problem. Not just today, but for years to come.
