This is long. Sorry, but I ramble. I think i already know how you are going to answer this question but I'll ask answers..
Well, this year I am starting high school as a freshman. I'm not a new student. When I signed up for classes they told me they were cutting art classes for freshman and that if there was room in a class they would do a drawing and 1 or more freshman would fill up the spaces. I love art (I'm not very good at it) but I love it so I signed up for the drawing.
My class fees list came in the mail a few weeks ago and I could see which classes I had off that list. And I had gotten the art class I wanted! I was ecstatic but really nervous. I asked my friends and none of them had gotten that class.
What I'm scared about is that the chances are I'm going to have the class with a bunch of upper classes man and if I'm lucky one or two other freshman.. I'm really scared because I probably won't know anybody. I am social and know a few upper class man but it's just when I'm around people I don't know and they all know each other but me I get really nervous and shy.
I know I could meet a lot of cool people that I have stuff in common with this way and that it will get easier as the year goes on. But I'm still scared shitless of the like first weeks of not knowing anyone.
I can't find out if anyone I know is in the class either because I have no social sites like facebook and myspace and I don't have any bodies phone number.
So what should I do? I considered dropping the class and just waiting until I am a sophomore and taking the class and I think that's a good idea. I even thought maybe I could get high so it's less awkward and easier to make friends, haha! Not one of my greatest ideas but I'd do it.
Anyways, thanks in advance and let me know what you think? Sorry I sound like a paranoid freshman.

I go to a high school that almost all of my middle school friends AREN'T going to, and I was terrified of my first day. To make it worse, my geometry class was full of juniors/seniors (they had mustaches! ahh!) I think that if you enjoy art, you should take it. I know that your friends aren't in it, but after a couple days you're bound to meet a new friend. If you have other questions, feel free to send me message (:
