DOES IBUPROFEN DELEY PERIOD?

Question Posted Wednesday June 16 2010, 12:28 pm

My friend said to take a ibuprofen pill to stop your period from coming for a few days. I want to go swimming today and I took one because my period is coming up due. I got to thinking and this is a really cool medicine then but how will I know if I'm pregnant if it has delayed my period, right? Will ibuprophen affect a pregnancy test then?

So, does ibuprofen really deley a period or what?

Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory. In terms of your period, the only thing it can help with is the cramps. It will not delay your period nor will it have any affect on a pregnancy test.

No it does not. Actually it will make you bleed more. I've used it before on my periods for pain and rather than make it go away, it made me bleed even more! I do not recommend using pain pills in this way. That could become a habit and make you really sick!!!!
