Court2180 answered Tuesday June 1 2010, 8:30 pm: tell your mom. she will help you. im 13 and ive had my period for about a year. but ive tried wearing a tampon 3 times. THEY HURT. so dont be upset. just wear pads. this might sound funny but try spraying the pad or even ur underwear to make it smell good. haha lol. i dont do it but its worth a shot. so are you feeling cramps or any pain coming from "down there?" Because when i got my period, the first day was torture. It hurt so bad. So if it is hurting i would suggest "MIDOL" (im not sure how to spell it) or you could try "ADVIL" if not then it could not be your period and i would consult a doctor. I hope i helped. Your mom might not let you wear tampons, but she'll be fine with you wearing pads. Let her know your period has started, and she'll get you set up. Or, worst case scenario, you go to the drug store and buy a pack... they're not that expensive.
Don't worry about your period. Once you're all padded up, you shouldn't leak through to your pants, and nobody will even notice. I know it seems pretty gross the first few times, but in no time at all you'll be used to it.
If you get cramps, try taking a little Advil or Midol. Make sure to drink plenty of water (to keep down bloating) and to avoid chocolate and caffeine, because they make cramps worse. [ NinjaNeer's advice column | Ask NinjaNeer A Question ]
