I thought Birthcontrol was supposed to make the bleeding stop?

So i just started taking birthcontrol on Tuesday. It said to start within the first 24 hours of ur period which i did. Its now sunday night and Im still bleeding a lot. i thought it was suppose to make the bledding go away?

my friend said she bled for the first month on birthcontrol is that true?

All the birth control i know of your supposed to start taking 24 hours after your period ends...Ive never heard of taking it while your on your period.

And birth control doesn't automatically make your period lighter. It can take up to 6 months to start lightening your period.
