Depo provera: you should be protected during that 2 week period before getting your next shot right?
Question Posted Wednesday April 28 2010, 5:01 pm
Okay so I have been on the depo shot since November. I am currently in the two week time period my doctor told me to come back to get my next one. I always make my boyfriend wear a condom though too because I'm paranoid about getting pregnant. Anyway today when my boyfriend was done and pulled out the condom It kind of fell off and the cum fell out on the bed. I'm not sure if any got on me. Either way you should be protected during that 2 week period before getting your next shot right? Any chance I could be pregnant?thanks

LiLReBeL6907 answered Friday April 30 2010, 10:49 pm: Even with a shot you can still get pregnant! Especially during the first couple months of taking a new form of birth control. Because birth control are not all the same hormones, when you switch to a different birth control, or get on birth control for the first time your body can take 3 months or so to become fully adjusted to the new hormones. This trial period is what gets many girls in trouble because they assume as soon as they are on birth control that they are covered and can have unprotected sex and not get pregnant. But because of the facts I just told you, that is not the case. Now based on your question I am not sure if when you said the condom "fell off" if you mean it just fell off his penis after he pulled out, or fell off inside of you? Did the condom break? If it broke then there could be a chance of pregnancy. If it just fell off afterwards then you should be okay. Hope my answer helps! [ LiLReBeL6907's advice column | Ask LiLReBeL6907 A Question ]
