Pregnancy.

Question Posted Wednesday April 21 2010, 6:45 am

When you're pregnant... how long does it take until the fetus has a heartbeat.

And how long do you wait until after sex to find out if you are pregnant from a pregnancy kit?

Thank you.

The heartbeat is actually the earliest behavior - it begins when the embryo is about three weeks old.

I think two to three weeks is the recommended time to wait before you take a test; that's about how long it takes for the hormone hCG to be picked up by the test.
