Freckle ... skin cancer?

Question Posted Saturday February 6 2010, 10:55 pm

I know that this isn't a health forum or anything but if anyone knows anything on the topic, that'd be great. I have a freckle (it's been there FOREVER since I was little) it's in between two of my toes (on the toe next to my pinky toe) its brown, but I saw a tiny dark spot on it.. it's like dark brown. It's a very small portion but could it be skin cancer or anything serious? I know freckles aren't usually skin cancer but any advice?

like the person below said, it could be many things, because your toes do rub together. keep an eye on it, and it the spot doesn't go away or gets bigger, see a doctor right away. have you done anything in the past that would trigger skin cancer? such as tanning at a salon, or not using sunblock everytime your at the beach, or using it, and not reapplying? these are things to think about. if your concerned, see a doctor.

It's probably nothing but dirt or dead skin because your toes rubbed together, but if you're really worried about it maybe you can just go for a normal health check and just mention it to the doctor. He can reassure you better than I can as I can't see it and I'm not a doctor. Although I doubt it is skin cancer because it's in between your toes and the sun doesn't really shine directly on there and your feet are always in your shoes which means nothing could have gotten on there and grown. Goodluck! Hope I helped. :)
