I have applied for unemployment benefits on the file claim where my status on the previous weeks claim is shown it has the letters (IS) what does this mean? if it's bad am i able to reapply and restart a claim? How would i go about this situation?

Hi there,

When you apply for unemployment you are typically assigned a case worker. It is their job to answer questions just like this one. Even if there were someone here able to answer your question, odds are you would have another question about your unemployment status that only your caseworker could handle for you.

I attempted to look this up for you, as I am sure others did, but I found that it varies from state to state. With this in mind, it really isn't possible to answer with certainty given the info we have to work with.

I hope you contact your case worker... and that you got a nice one. :-)
