how can i tell ig i have a septate hymen ?

Question Posted Thursday December 17 2009, 8:29 pm

i am 17 and have tried and failed to use tampons. i assumed it was because i am a virgin and my hymen is still intact, but because im curious and Googled it, i found out that there are different types of hymens and i was wondering if there was a way to tell if you have a septate hymen without going to see a doctor.

Your hymen shouldn't prevent you from using tampons. Try following the instructions on the box or looking online for tips. If you're curious as to what kind of hymen you have then ask your gyno... that would probably be the easiest way since they are very familiar with female anatomy.
