and plug the red/white ends into your tv and the other black end into the port on your computer where a microphone would go.
for video you could look to see if you TV and your computer have S-video ports (output for TV and input for Computer). If they do then Great. just use an S-video cable. If not you're probably gonna have to spend more money on some form of a converter box. this is where talking to Best Buy dudes helps. but expect to empty your wallet.
You're also gonna need some video capturing software. Windows Movie Maker and iMovie both work.
Dont expect this to be a simple plug in and press the red circle type of deal. Sorry.
