It can become very addictive due to the body loving the sensation, it wants to experience those same feelings, and it knows that taking the drug is the fastest and most easiest way to get high. (It is harder to achieve a natural high, and any opiate, like Vicodin is instant gratification).

Corez3r0 answered Saturday November 14 2009, 11:16 pm: The main use of Vicodin is to suppress pain. Like the person above me mentioned, one could easily become addicted to it when they were only using it by prescription to begin with. Now.. The reason that people end up getting addicted to it to begin with is that it replaces that pain with a great feeling. Its hard to explain really.. In laments terms, "It makes you feel really good!" Its very similar to alcohol abuse. (I've never used drugs in my life, by the way). Anyway they become addicted to its effects, their body adapts to it, and they slowly begin to convince them self that they can't go through a day in life without that extra "feel good boost". I hope that helps. [ Corez3r0's advice column | Ask Corez3r0 A Question ]
mossett answered Saturday November 14 2009, 10:40 pm: It's an addictive painkiller. Usually if you abuse it you are either,
1.) Someone who had some kind of injury or medical need for it and then just got hooked
-or-
2.) Someone who is into drugs and is into experimentation.
Why do you think people smoke tobacco still even with all the medical evidence that its horrible for you? cause it gives you a buzz and people get addicted. [ mossett's advice column | Ask mossett A Question ]
