A cyst in the lower back.

Question Posted Tuesday November 3 2009, 10:21 pm

Okay, so, I think this could go under health or injuries. So I just put it here. This is a bit longer than I thought so I just put **'s by where the question actually is.

Well, I had a cyst in my lower back for over a year (July 08). Bothered me everytime I sat down, eventually I got used to sitting a certain way but in long eriods of time in school it would strain my back. Well, I went to many doctors who prescribed tons of medicine which NEVER worked. Frusterated me. Finally, my mother took me to a dermatologist, which prescribed me the same medication... still didn't worked. Well, they finally just took out the stupid thing about 2 weeks ago. well they stitched it up the hole and told me to come back in 10 days. About 5 days later, a hole appeared, kinda like the stitches breaking. I went back ASAP the doctor said it looked fine. Then, I went and got the stitches taken out, thought everything was wonderful, not even a day later this huge hole appeared.

**The stitches didn't work. The wound broke open. Now this is where you come in, haha, Any ideas? I mean there was no blood and it doesn't hurt. Should I just leave it alone for a couple days and it'll eventually heal itself? Or go back to this stupid doctor again? It's really frusterating and disgusting for me. 17/f

I don't know what your insurance is, but you might want to get a second opinion.

I have Kaiser and had ingrown toenails removed in January. I was in a lot of pain and the nail ended up falling off. I went to 2 other Podiatrist before I found my current one, who is the head of the Podiatry department. He explained to me what happened, the other didn't.
