Removing Soap bubbles from homemade soap

Question Posted Saturday October 17 2009, 11:15 pm

Is there a substitute for Alcohol when removing soap bubbles from homemade soap (this is the most important part)...aslo do you absolutley have to use alcohol when adhering two pieces or is that just a suggestion, if it is necessary is there an alternative that is safer than alcohol. I know alcohol is fine in reasonable amounts, i'd just like to make alcohol free soap and when I make soap cupcakes or something like that, i'd like to adhere the two pieces without using alcohol. Also, does using the melted soap it's self work just as well as the alcohol adhesive? Thank you.

Hi! I think it's pretty nifty that you are creating your own homemade soap. It's really a great idea. I've found so many people online that are doing the same thing at their homes.

The problem is that you are one of a kind on the Advicenator site, most likely. We would absolutely love to give you the proper information but it can be kind of tricky to find when you're not into this sort of thing.

What I've been reading online pretty much says that there is not alternative to alcohol when making homemade soaps. I am not a soap maker though.

I kept looking around and found a great site you can take some valuable information from, I'm sure:

Soap Making Forum! :D

This being said, I'm sure those ladies can tell you what is what about what pretty easily. I'm sure they've tried a few alternatives to alcohol that either succeeded or did not and may be able to give you suggestions. If they haven't, your question may spark some interest in the subject and may try some alternatives to give you some better information.

I do ask something of you though. If you would please return to Advicenators and answer this (yes, your own) question with the proper answers once you've figured it out we would really appreciate it. I'm sure you will not be the last of the homemade soap making people and it sounds like very important information.

So, I do apologize for the lack of proper information but I hope you find what you're looking for.
