enable custom content for sims 3 on a mac

How do i do it? I downloaded some houses and stuff and they show up but the objects i downloaded (.package files) wont show up. I dont see a way to enable the custom content but i know i did everything right installing the objects and they still wont show up. Maybe they just dont work on macs? idk! help!

^This new Sims 3 patch states there mac users could not download custom contact after a certain patch was instulled, but that was fixed.
Go to thesims3.com to install this lastest patch.
