ipod touch/new computer.

i have an ipod touch and an ipod nano. well, i followed this tutorial:[Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

i did all that exactly, and yes it did work. but i'm still confused.. what about my apps?? my ipod is plugged in and i still see them but.. also how do i see like how it shows your ipod and the number, and how much room you have left and all thaT?? i got my music back from my ipod touch, but what about the ipod nano? do i just follow those same instructions?? i'm just really confused, if you can help in any way, that would be great. :)
