So, I'm going into my senior year in less than two weeks. All summer, I thought, it's senior year, I don't give a crap about my classes and who I'm friends with and hang out with. But now, since it's starting soon and schedules just came, I'm getting a little anxious about that stuff and I'm actually caring. Also, I feel like if I don't have classes with some of friends I'm gonna grow apart from them. Uggh, I always feel like that little bit of time right before school starts is kind of stressful, why is that? Anyone else feel this way? Senior year is supposed to be somewhat carefree
The only advice I have right now is don't leave your apps for the last minute. You can leave your school work for the last minute, just not your applications because you don't want to send off bullshit. Also, be careful second semester. You don't want to fall into senioritis hardcore (like me). You can certainly get it a fair amount, but make sure you pass all your classes. Maintain at least a high C in everything, otherwise suddenly your finals are going to matter, and when you haven't been paying attention the entire semester, that sucks. Senior classes will be easy and I just don't care. I drank a lot and started smoking and I procrastinated with everything except art. I did drift from my friends but they were the friends that always started drama and had problems and I stayed friends with the people who matter. It's so hard to stay focused when you have college and the rest of your life to worry about but try to take it day by day and really push yourself to do your best because it really matters. I didn't get into my first choice school and right now I'm miserable at my 2nd choice school. Please don't screw up. If you push yourself before you get the grade warnings then you'll be much happier than hearing week after week that your grades are low. It will be stressful but I can't even tell you how much I would trade a week here for a chance to go back to my senior year for a week. Don't waste your time with the people you know. You'll regret it so much. [ modelkate11's advice column | Ask modelkate11 A Question ]

In some aspects senior year can be carefree. You're now who the underclassmen looks up to -- so be the role model.
I had no classes with my friends my senior year, but with the school's curriculum we had to take the same subjects as a graduation requirement; therefore we'd always meet before or after school socializing and helping out with each other's homework.
One of the things to keep it fun, is to attend your senior prom and homecoming. Volunteer in some activities during school. In my school, seniors were able to skip class to volunteer for activities that occured during school.
If you're thinking about college, it would be time to talk to your college counselor about applying and such. What you'll need, and what you can do to make your chances greater of getting in. Don't wait until the last minute, because I did. Don't make your senior year more stressful that it needs to me. Get your work in on time, and speak to your counselor once a month about college.
It's okay to feel nervous too. I did as well. But after your first few days, things will settle down, and you'll later enjoy the experience.
