Blue screen!!

My computer like upgraded or something I have windows xp and it's not the blue crashing screen I know to hit cntrl alt delete..but that won't work. Why did it upgrade of never did this before..

Ok, all that means is that there's an error in the hard drive. Try the following before you start to panic:

Start the computer, and right when it starts up (before it goes to the windows loading screen) hit f8...if you do it at the right time, it will take you to a black screen with white font. Go to safe mode and hit enter. Once you're in safe mode, the computer SHOULD work (if it doesn't then it's time for a repair!)
If it does work : Go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore.
Follow the instructions and see if this helps.
