No icons on desktop!!!

I have no icons on my desktop I know to hit control alt delete and new task and then explorer.exe but when I do that I get the message "windows cannot find explorer.exe...." what do I do? I have mozilla firefox too so maybe try typing that in or something? Any help is greatly appreciated :)

Did you or do you have a virus on your computer? The virus might have played around with your registry entries.
