I want to try contacts.
I have an rx for my glasses prescription already thats up to date.
Do I need to make an eye doctor appointment to get an rx for contacts or is it the same prescription?
I'd also like to add that a contact lens prescription has more information attached to it, like the precise shape of the lens that fits your eye. They do all that at the fitting/evaluation, and it makes contacts infinitely more comfortable to wear.
So yes, you'll need an appointment. Make sure you mention contacts when you schedule it, because it takes more time to do =)
Matt answered Sunday August 9 2009, 4:59 pm: You ought to just wait until your next yearly optometrist appointment and bring it up then, then you'd have an up-to-date prescription for both at the same time. Better than having each changed at different times during the year for no reason. [ Matt's advice column | Ask Matt A Question ]
