no music, no iexplorer, youtube

Question Posted Saturday August 8 2009, 9:48 pm

so about a month ago my computer started to act weird. 98% of the time windows media player, internet explorer, and zune will not come up. (firefox does come up though) i click on them and they show up and then disappear in 5 seconds. i'm 99.9% sure i have no viruses so i don't know what's wrong. i am dying without listening to music or updating my zune!

also, this may be unrelated but when internet explorer DOES work, i can go on youtube all i want but with firefox it lets me be go to youtube and watch about 2-3 videos then it won't change the page to go to another part of youtube. if you don't know why this is then ignore this half but i don't what's wrong.

thanks so much for any help and for reading this!

Well if the program is opening then closing you might need to reinstall those programs, but the more likely solution is that you do in fact have a virus.

Also about the second part if firefox is only letting you view 2-3 videos then it might be a slow internet connection, or youtube's servers might be going under maintenance. If it's only youtube thats freezing you so that you can not go on another video than it is on youtube's end not yours.

If you need anymore advice/help just message me and i will be happy to help.

Hope it helped

Well first off if it is youtube's servers there is nothing anyone can do about it except those who maintain the servers.

Also if it is a virus you will just need to get rid of it. If it's something simple these two programs are good anti maleware/ anti virus [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
and
[Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
both are fairly lite weight anti virus / malware programs.

If these programs do not work then try reinstalling your windows media player, zune software, and Internet Explorer.

If all those fail and it is still acting up i suggest you go to your local computer store and get a virus removal. If you cannot afford it then i suggest just reinstalling windows.
