Microsoft .Net Framework Hey it's me with the question about the Microsoft .Net Framework updates. Sorry I haven't responded, was on a trip. Anyways I uninstalled all the .Net Frameworks and went to Windows Update. There, all there was for updating was Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1 and Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update (KB951847) x86. I checked them both and both downloads were successful but the installation for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update (KB951847) was a failure, all I got was this pop up saying to terminate the program and I did. So only 1.1 was installed. After that I went to microsoft.com to install .Net Framework 2.0, download successful but again, installation failure. Got this pop up saying:
"Error 250115. Failed to install assembly 'C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Microsoft.VisualBasic.Compatibility.dll' because of system error: 0x80131107"
So right now all I have is .Net Framework 1.1 and that's it. On Windows Update there were no updates relating to 2.0 or 3.0, only 1.1 and 3.5.

I don't think that you completely uninstalled 3.5. Go to add/remove programs and check "include updates" at the top. Uninstall everything related to the .Net Framework. Restart your computer. Install this:

Use that to remove all .net 1.1 and 3.5 entries. Restart.
Then install 1.1 and 3.5 from Windows Update. If it fails, try it again. If it fails the second time, use this package to install 3.5:

If that fails as well, give me exact error codes. You can click on "Click here for more information" for error codes in the "This program needs to close" error.
2.0 is included in the 3.5 package and shouldn't be installed separately. ]
