hurts during sex

Question Posted Sunday June 28 2009, 5:59 pm

Hey im 18/f and my bf is 21/m i just recently started noticing that when we have sex it reallly hurts! It never used to hurt until like a couple weeks ago. Hes not really big either so its not that. The only time it doesnt hurt is if we're doing missionary. Other than that everything else hurts. We could do other positions and it didnt hurt but does now. Is there something wrong with me? I dont have insurance so i cant afford to go to the doctors. Can anybody tell me why this is happening? My boyfriend and i are both clean too.

Thanks a bunch
I will rate high!

Most towns have free clinics for the uninsured. Find out where your closest free clinic is, and get in asap. There's quite a few different infections that can cause this, and also stuff like pelvic inflammatory disease. Sometimes you have to go to the doctor even if you don't have insurance, they will take payments, even if you can only give them a few dollars a month.

You're in a tough spot because you do need to see a doctor about this. Does your school have a nurse you can talk to?

Do you have a yeast infection? If you do, this could cause you pain, and there are over-the-counter medications to treat it. Yeast infections are pretty obvious, though, and I don't imagine you would be unaware you had one. They're very messy and unpleasant.

You really do need to see a doctor about this. You say you're clean of STDs. If this has recently been confirmed, you can rule that out, which could also be a cause.

Until you can afford the doctor's visit, I would recommend you stop having sex. If you're experiencing unexplained pain during sex, there could be a problem with your uterus (Again you need to see a doctor to know) and as such, you can't risk a pregnancy. Plus if sex hurts, you should avoid it until the problem is resolved medically.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help.
