Typically, the first few times you have sex are a sort of probationary period. Neither of you know what you like, how to achieve what you want, how to give the other person what they want, etc. etc. The only way to find out what you both like is to try things out, and most importantly, COMMUNICATE. My girlfriend and I know exactly what the other wants because we experimented and told each other the results. I prefer her to be on top of me, and she prefers me to be behind her. We compromise and switch positions to give each other a good experience.
So yeah, guide each other in the right direction. You can worry about mixing it up later when the sex begins to get stale.
