trip to manhattan

Question Posted Tuesday June 16 2009, 12:39 am

so me and my boyfriend are planning to go to the city in about a week
weve been there before but we just want to make sure we get to everywhere we want to and what not
the problem is though were not really sure where everything is

we definitely want to go to places like
soho (the apple store, urban outfitters)
st marks place (trash)
central park
canal street

and we probably want to get like a sushi dinner or something

ive been trying to find good maps with everything but its not going too well
because we also need to coordinate it with the subway?
so if anyone can give me addresses, or maps, or more places to go, help with figuring it out with the subway, a good sushi place
it would be appreciated

thanks!

Your best bet for bus and subway information is www.mta.info; there's all sorts of info there, including maps and a trip planner.

Personally, I find most Japanese/sushi places in Manhattan to be rather expensive, but that's just me. The Larmen Dosanko chain has good noodle dishes. FOr best sushi, look here: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location).

If you're going to Chinatown, there are two things you must do: get dim sum at one of these places, [Link](Mouse over link to see full location), and get ice cream at the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory [Link](Mouse over link to see full location). No arguing, just do it. :-)

If you want funky shopping, you might want to consider getting out of Manhattan and heading over to Brooklyn. The Greenpoint and Williamsburg neighborhoods are what Greenwich Village and SoHo used to be. (I can personally attest to the quality clothing available at the Salvation Army store in Greenpoint.)

Hope this helps!
