Asian Ball-Jointed dolls (Abjd)

Question Posted Monday June 15 2009, 9:40 pm

Okay :) basically, ever heard of Bjd's? They are these seriously amazing dolls...I didn't know anything about them a week ago, but I saw a few on Deviant art and I was like "I have GOT to get me one of those!" Unfortunatly...they run anywhere from 200-1000+ dollars. I know... MEGA expensive and WAY out of my budget (I'm vacationing all summer so it's a pretty inconvieniant time to get a job) but these dolls are beautiful and if I could just own one, I would be so freakin' happy :) So I've already decided I'll save up for it -_- it might take forever, but it'll be worth it. I don't want to make my mom spend any money on MY hobbies (that's not really fair...) so I'm going to pay for it. However, I don't know if my mom will LET me buy one. She's always pretty controlling on what I can or can't buy. It has to be useful and not a complete waste of money. She probably won't see the creative use of these dolls very kindly though :/ so back to my question: How do you think I could kind of approach her about the subject? I have to tell her before hand...I mean I have my own bank account/stuff to order it without her permission but I'd rather have her permission so she won't flip out at me :/ thanks! and I rate answers...Good answers anyway haha :)

Well I'm brand new to this advice giving thing, but I'm also a teenager with a different perspective on this situation. I think that you should open the conversation off with her by sharing with her how much you love these dolls and why...I think that you just have to make her understand why they are so important to you. Parents support their child's passions and dreams. So if you tell her that you like the dolls and you are saving up to get them and tell her why they are important I think she would give you her blessing and support. That is my intake on it. I know my mom is supportive of me giving advice. I hoped this help you. If not then I apologize. Good luck with the dolls.
