I found a hard (sort of) lump on my vulva the other day- it had a small white head, and a tiny bit of pus came out. It is now much larger- i took a warm bath and applied a warm wash cloth, but it is quite large (about the size of a pea, or little bigger) and nothing seems to help. It is pretty sore...
I will call the gyno to get it checked out
Anyone know what this could be? I am really worried. I have had sex only once (few years ago), and tested for STDs, but am now worried this could be cancerous (HPV-related), or will not heal properly on its own.
Additional info, added Saturday June 13 2009, 6:08 am: actually seems more like an abscess and bigger than a pea...probably the size of a bean.. Until it does it could be very painful. If you have some triple antibiotic cream put some over it. Cover it with something because it will make a big mess, but it will probably break. You won't believe the crap that will come out of it, don't let it scare you.
After it breaks continue with the antibiotic ointment. Covering it after it breaks isn't real
necessary but may make you feel better. It will take some time to heal.
I realize it may be in a place that makes covering such as a band aid impossible. Gauze or anything like that places loosely over it will work.Just stick it to the antibiotic. [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
