I need protein for my hair

Question Posted Sunday May 31 2009, 9:48 pm

hi, a few years ago i dyed my hair black and it fell out.
it thinned out a lot because i waited a while. you could see my scalp, then i got protein treatments and my hair started falling out,.
well i dyed my hair red again and my hair is falling out again and its been like, two weeks.
every day i am tortured of the sight of my hair falling out, and i have hardly any way to get to town to buy protein treatments. i now have enough money to buy protein treatments..
i feel so bad because my family is so old fashioned they dont understand me..
i cant tell my dad my hair is falling out because hell kill me.
the last time my hair fell out, it costed about two hundred dollars to fix.
i only have 45 dollars.
i think i have enough for some redken protein treatment shampoo, i just need to know what i really need.

my hair is falling out and i need a solution fast on how to emotionally deal with this.
and what to buy.
please help me.
ive tried egg whites in my hair, and i cant try beer because im not old enough to buy it and my family wont believe me when i say what it's for.
my hair just keeps falling out
and ive cried a lot..
and i feel so much pain because hair loss to me seems very emotional, i dont know why ..
i justt need to fix it.
please help me.

So sorry to hear about your hair. I've had so many hair catastrophes you don't even want to know!

You can try eating lots of jello. They even have gelatin tabs for this too and it helps your hair grow back faster. I took it before my wedding when they cut my hair way too short.

Meanwhile, get a good reconstructor from a beauty supply store. They are cheap, like a buck a package but they really help repair damaged hair from coloring.

Multi-vitamins will help too. But mostly it seems like your hair can't take all the coloring. So ease off!

BTW- you aren't taking any meds are you? Because some meds like antidepresants and such can make your hair fall out like that.

That's all I can think of for now. Hang in there. It seems like the end of the world now but it'll grow back and you can try to come up with some creative hairstyles, hats, whatever in the meantime. :-) But try out the ideas above.

i would stop dying your hair. if your going to buy products make sure it has keratin in it. (you can find it on the ingredients on the back of the bottle) keratin is what your hair is make out of and will help your hair grow. I know chi has a spray that you can use every so often. but if you go to Sallys the beauty product store they and ask a store person they should be able to tell you about some shampoos with keratin in it.

also ask them about any other product to put protein in your hair.

hope i helped
