Okay, so we have a Linksys WiFi router (2.4GHz I think)and we leave it on all the time.
My neighbours have asked us a couple of times to turn it off at night, because they are disturbed by the waves or whatever (I'm not sure about this, but okay)
I'm just wondering whether it's okay to turn of the router for the night, or will this cause problems, if switched off every night and then switched on in the morning?
No problem at all with turning it off at night. Linksys routers, in my experience, benefit greatly from regular resets. Stability isn't their strong suit, really.
Feel free to shut down your Linksys wireless router as often as you like.
Also, I would like to note that it is very kind of you to be so considerate to your neighbors. If you want to find out if they are wacko, or one of the growing number of people who are experiencing outright physical pain from exposure to microwave radiation (which your router emits...) just start turning it off at night, and see if they notice. :-) [ DangerNerd's advice column | Ask DangerNerd A Question ]
