my period hasnt come

Question Posted Tuesday May 19 2009, 3:07 am

I'm 18/F

On the 24th of April I took a morning after pill because the condom broke. 6 days later i had light(and sometimes heavy) bleeding for about 7 days.

I usually get my period on the 16th of every month, and it goes for 7 days. It's the 19th, and i haven't got my period. I had sex on friday night then saturday morning so has that got something to do with my period not coming on time? or is something else going on?? I couldn't be pregnant, could I?

I've had period pain for the past couple of days, but nothing more..Im starting to freak outt! is it possible that when i started bleeding 6 days after taking the morning after pill that i got my period early??

HumanInstincts answered Wednesday May 20 2009, 3:23 am:
The morning after pill you took most likely threw your cycle out of whack. They are essentially a super-dose of specific hormones, the sorts of things that regulate your menses in the first place.

That doesn't rule out the possibility of pregnancy, just that it is unlikely if you are still using birth control.

A test isn't that expensive. Wait another couple days and put your mind at ease.

it is possible the pill might have given you an early period, depending on which pill you took. Some pill's have different effects so you can't be to sure. If you are suspecting pregnancy, dont do anything risky, like, taking any more birth control. Wait a week and see what happens then, take a pregnancy test or see a specialist. Don't do anything that might hurt the baby, if that is the case.
