I'm 19 years old, female... and out of a job right now. I don't have a car or my license yet, so it's really hard for me to get around unless a friend's around... I plan to go for mine soon but while I'm waiting to do so, and waiting to hear from other jobs, I'd just like to say I'm going COMPLETELY INSANE being stuck in the house.
It's not even just going out with friends that I need to do... I feel I need to do something productive before I go even more insane. lol
So any ideas of what I can do that can be more productive? I've read, written, tried to research things that interest me, taken walks, everything. Any ideas that aren't so mundane?
And googling things to do doesn't always work. What I also do is go out and just start applying for jobs. Send them all in. From 8 am to 5 pm do nothing but merely go job hunting. And be assertive.. the next day, call them about interviewing you. And no car.. I would recommend taking the bus. Buses are there. I hate them but sometimes they're necessary. They're cheaper than car transportation anyway. And would you know a relative that would help out? Or a well-known neighbor? Give them a call and ask.
Also, what is something that you enjoy doing? Babysitting, cleaning homes, house sitting, dog walking - whatever. Put up ads around your town to advertise finding a hobby. Or, try craigslist.com (it's free posting ads), or your local newspaper, which usually costs a couple dollars.

Think about the kind of job you want go online and learn every thing you can about it that way when it's time for your interview you will be able to give them the reason why it should be you and not some one else.
