hand over mouth Hi,
What a great response! Thanks so much. I loved the detail you were able to provide. You seem like a very articulate writer.
Here is some more information for you. The boy has a very small face. His nose and mouth are only 1cm apart which is less than the width of a single finger.
So if you covered the boys mouth from behind, how close to his nostrils might your hand come based upon the short distance between his nose/mouth AND based upon the size of your hand?
What exact part of your hand would be nearest his nose?
Do you think the boy would be forced to smell your hand as you keep him quiet with your hand? Explain why he has no choice.
Also, do you think the boy would be able to scream for help against your hand to your neighbors? What kind of noise could he make? And what would you say to him if he tried to yell for help to the neighbors?
I look forward to your response. The more detailed you are, the better I can understand this. Thanks again:) I promise to respond promptly once I receive your message.

I guess it depends on where exactly she's putting her hand. If she's using her palm to cover his mouth, then she's probably covering his nose with her fingers. But if she's using her fingers more to cover his mouth, her index finger will probably still be touching his nose a little, so he probably would be smelling her hand regardless, since it is so close to his nose. He would be able to scream, but it would be more like a muffled scream. Still, I think he might be able to be pretty loud, so it seems a little unlikely to me, but I've heard of true experiences of people getting kidnapped this way & no one could hear them, so I guess it all depends on how the boy reacts. ]
